The speedy American filly SMOOTHABILITY looks set to return with a bang in tomorrow afternoon's overnight allowance feature, the 1000-metre straight GA 'Sarge' Bucknor Memorial.

Unraced since late June, when finishing a close fourth at 1000 metres round behind EXPLOSIVE PEAK, RIGMAROLE and BULLET TRAIN, the American speedster is actually down in class for her return, pitted against another returning filly, the local-bred OUTSTANDING.

OUTSTANDING, who started her career with five straight wins last season before finishing a close fourth in the Caribbean Sprint last November, was sent off to the breeding shed after finishing fifth to MEDICAL REPORT in the 1200-metre Abe Issa Memorial on February 9.

However, she took her fractious behaviour to the farm and gave the stallions a hard time, resulting in a change of ownership, stables and a return to the races eight months later.

The former Billy Williams-trained filly now takes orders from Gresford Smith and has looked good at exercise, fit enough for a big run off her lengthy lay-up, as she was spotted clocking 1:00.0 flat from the gate two Saturdays ago.

However, she's a high-strung sort, and, similar to February 2, when she bolted prior to the start, it's extremely hard to trust her temperament as she had also started developing a gate problem before going off to stud.

SMOOTHABILITY has hardly been doing anything at exercise but that's the norm for her. She's not the best drawn at gate two but has enough mid-race pace to sit and pounce coming across the dummy rail.

She showed her class in Grade One races, finishing a half-length third in the 1100-metre Lotto Sprint late May and tore away in the 1300-metre Digicel Irish Stakes before being caught by CHADMAN.

If SMOOTHABILITY or OUTSTANDING show any sign of rust, the local-bred colt, WHEEL N DEAL is extremely fit, hunting back-to-back wins, and is nicely drawn at gate seven.

Track Price Plus Pick-6 players hunting a banker on the 10-race card should look to GIRLOFMYDREAMS in the seventh at 1400 metres.

The Patrick Fong-trained runner was turned back by better colts in her last two races, coming off a four-month lay-up, and faces an easier bunch, including CALVIN THE GREAT, who she had behind her when beaten by SPACEMAN at 1500 metres.

In the opening event at a mile, Philip Feanny's ZUN ZUN has come on a ton and should use her relentless backstretch pace to run rivals into the ground especially the one-paced EVANDER, whose glass jaw was exposed when he went unplaced in the summer classics.

ZUN ZUN reeled of 1:12.2 splits for her last two races, and although stepping up in class, among non-winners-of-three, should again prove too strong for rivals.
