Dear Pastor,
I have had the urge for some time to drop you a line as I have become a regular member of your media congregation. The first time I met you in the Jamaican Star I was touched to see a pastor has a pulpit in the media, so I started buying The Star for no other reason, but to read your column.
I have been impressed with your advice, but permit me to say that as a christian (a senior one) that is the very fact why people write to you for advice. And they expect some religious reply. Some even ask for your prayer. You should be referring more to the Bible and pointing to God for answers.

Dear H. B.,
I want to assure you that as a Christian, I write from a christian perspective. But I have to bear in mind that many who seek my help are not christians. They do not even believe in the Bible.
Therefore, I do not wish to embarrass anyone or to cause anyone to stop reading my column because I have given them the impression that all my answers are taken from the Bible.
Pastor
