A five-vehicle collision caused traffic to pile up along the Palisadoes main road yesterday. It occurred approximately one kilometre from the Caribbean Maritime Institute.
When the Star visited the scene, the mangled remains of a Nissan Pulsar and a Toyota Corolla were seen.
The Harbour View police say about 3:30 p.m., a Honda Integra and a Toyota Corolla were allegedly speeding along the roadway when the Corolla lost control and slammed into the back of the Integra which flew across the other side of the road causing three vehicles to collide. The other vehicles involved were a Toyota Noah, a Honda CR-V and a Nissan Pulsar.
The police say there were no fatalities, however two persons were taken to the University Hospital in serious condition.
