Recently, Jackass was looking at some of the electricity bills that people were presenting to the newspapers with those whole heap of zeros behind them. And many times, the people were saying that very few people lived at the place the bill was for, and on top of it, nobody was home during the day to burn up the light (as they put it).

And Jackass looked at the people and thought: 'Poor, decent middle class. Corners dark again, just like with Cash Plus. Because if it was ghetto people getting those bills and marching on JPS, they would stop sending them out quick, quick.'

Yeah man. It would not even take a group. Just one naa-tek-no-chat raw-chaw ghetto woman easing off a bus in Half-Way Tree and marching into the Ruthven Road JPS office with the bill in one hand, a rag over her shoulder, powder on her chest and her false hair set so. It done same time. No more high bills for anybody.

What bills?

But what is Jackass talking about, bills to ghetto people in the first place? Which bill? In reeeaaalll ghetto (not the ones that they show politicians visiting on TV)? Hell no! No bill at all. And try cut it off, nuh?

But that is because the matter will be addressed in no uncertain terms. Middle-class people are just too decent about it and they end up getting shafted. They are the ones who play by the rules (because rich people get away with murder too), as the talk-show man used to remind us, so they get juk.

The world is not level at all, because look how middle-class people behave decently and get bad treatment, while ghetto people kick up rumpus everlasting and get freeness all around.

No bailout

It is like with Cash Plus, where the Government said they would not be bailing out anyone and there wouldn't be significant repercussions on the economy, because the people with money in the scheme could absorb the loss. True.

But if it was something that lots of truly poor people had money in, Jackass knows that the government of the day, whether JLP or PNP, would be bailing like it was the Titanic going down.

In Jamaica, you are better off if you have one of two things: no behaviour or lots of money. The middle class has too much behaviour and far from enough money, that is why with JPS and other things, dem cornas dark! It is the middle class that pays for all those 'throw-wire' illegal connections in the ghetto and way uptown ('cause dem people tief light a hill top too; yu no see how dem house always light up like Stadium an dem look big enough fe match play inna, too).
