From victim to villain - Man in accident arrested after gun fell from him

Police have arrested the victim in a motorcycle crash, after an illegal firearm fell from him while he was being assisted at the scene, THE STAR understands.

The man, Kish Brown, 28, of Princess Street, downtown Kingston, was taken from the accident scene to hospital where he was admitted, but police did not delay in slapping him with several charges while he was at the health facility.

Brown was charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. Police were unable to set a court date because they did not know the extent of his injuries.

Police say that Brown was a pillion on a motorcycle that crashed into a motor car along Half-Way Tree Road, St Andrew on Saturday. While police on the scene assisted Brown and the rider of the motorcycle, the weapon, a .380 semi-automatic pistol with nine rounds of ammunition, fell from Brown's waistband.

The lawmen immediately seized the weapon and took Brown to hospital where he was admitted under police guard.
