Reid's Pen, buoyed by a record 153-run opening partnership between Ryan Francis and Robert Heron, defeated MegaMart Development Squad by seven wickets as action continued in the Petcom/MegaMart Portmore Metropolitan Cricket League on Sunday.
MegaMart batted first and compiled 170-9 off 30 overs. Earl Anglin led the youngsters with 35, and Odane Hartly 19, while Ramone Senior, captain Kimani Morgan and Gary Herbine all chipped in with 18 runs each. Geoffrey Laing (3-23), and Jermaine Gordon (3-20) shared six wickets for Reid's Pen.
Reid's Pen, in reply, raced to 171-3 with Francis top-scoring with 76 runs, and Robert Heron making 49. Ramone Senior took 2-24.
At Ken's Wildflower Sports ground, Portsmouth whipped Washington CC by 111 runs. Scores: Portsmouth, 186-4, Carlos Green 51, David Bernard Jr. 48 not out, Mario Downer 30. Washington CC 75 all out, Leroy Thompson, 21, Carlton Cooper 13; Bernard Jnr., 4-24, Raymond Brown, 2-11, Horace Stephens 2-5.
