ALL grudges will be put on the table at Drewsland tomorrow afternoon when joint Digicel Premier League leaders Waterhouse face brash new-comers Meadhaven in what should be a heated affair, starting at 4 p.m.
A bust-up over a reported $200,000 transfer fee for Hugh Howell, asked by Waterhouse, soured relations between the clubs before a ball was kicked this season.
Howell has not played a match for Waterhouse due to the vexed issue, whereas the likes of midfielders Andre Hickling, Weston Forrest and defender Roger Rodney have all switched allegiances to Meadhaven.
The experienced Waterhouse trio have featured in Meadhaven's encouraging start - two draws and last Sunday's 1-2 loss to top team Harbour View.
However, Waterhouse fans are unforgiving and the defectors are bound to have a hard time at Drewsland.
On second thought, forget the fans, Waterhouse have won their last two games, both on the road, after conceding a last-gasp goal in a 1-1 opening round draw with St. Georges.
With several returning veterans in the wings, getting fitter every day, after their usual summer stint in the New York 'Caribbean League', Waterhouse eagerly await their former Drewsland teammates.
Meadhaven's danger man, Keammar Daley, now getting solid midfield support from the former Waterhouse pair of Forrest and Hickling, has two goals in three games and cannot be under-estimated with his penetrating dribbling.
Waterhouse's defence and midfield has undergone some transformation, but their youthful line-up shone against Arnett last Sunday especially second-season player Kenardo Forbes, who has been thrust into a more attacking role by coach Wayne Fairclough.
However, it should be noted that Meadhaven have scored in their three games, putting five goals past opponents, whereas Waterhouse have been eking out 1-0 wins.
Meadhaven are not to be underestimated as they led twice, in their first two games, before conceding equalisers, 1-1 at Tivoli and 2-2 against Sporting Central at Drewsland.
On an afternoon when the top six teams are all at home, pitted against rivals in the lower half of the table, joint leaders Harbour View host promoted Rivoli at Compound. Champions Portmore, also joint leaders, on seven points, await next-to-last and winless Reno at Ferdie Neita Park.
Harbour View must be given the nod to outclass Rivoli, who should be outdone by the sheer skill and speed of the joint leaders despite notching a win against Sporting Central on Sunday.
Portmore should have Reno's ticket at Ferdie Neita, where they won their opening match against Rivoli. The champions are in good form and should prove too hot for Reno, who aren't good travellers.
At Collie Smith Drive, Boys' Town await St Georges, who are yet to lose or win a match, picking up a point in each of their three engagements, the last two at home.
St Georges drew their first match, 1-1 at Drewsland, and could improve their travelling form under Geoffrey Maxwell.
Sporting Central at home against last-place Arnett could go either way as the hosts will be all fired-up to pounce on the wounded Junglists, who are yet to earn a point or score a goal after three games.
Tivoli at home should prove too good for Village, who were slammed 4-0 by Harbour View in their lone road match from three games.
