'Bollo' to face prelim enquiry in murder case

western bureau

Anthony 'Bollo' Christie who was named as one of St. James' 10 most wanted men, is scheduled to face preliminary enquiry for a murder charge before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on November 10.

Christie, 25, from Bottom Pen, Glendevon in Montego Bay, was remanded when the matter was mentioned yesterday. He was taken into custody in July.

He is charged with the alleged murder of Dean Williams, 28, of Rose Heights, Montego Bay, who was gunned down as he sat at the entrance of Old Shoes Market on Creek Street in February.

When Christie last appeared before the court, it was revealed that he would be slapped with additional murder charges. He is to be jointly charged with another prisoner, Reo McIntosh who was implicated in the December 2007 murder of a Jenese Gordon.

No charges as yet

The court was told that Christie, McIntosh, and two other men, kicked off the door to Gordon's home and shot her to death.

However, the charge has not yet been laid against him.

It is anticipated that the investigating officer will update the court on any progress in the case.

Less than a month ago, both men were attacked on the cellblock at the Montego Freeport Police Station and were treated at hospital. They have since been transferred from that lock-up.

In the matter for which Christie will face a preliminary enquiry, allegations are that about 8 p.m. on February 14, Williams was sitting at the entrance of the Old Shoes Market when Christie approached him. Williams was then shot dead.
