A Family Court Judge yesterday issued a warrant for Mikael Phillips, People's National Party caretaker for East Rural St. Andrew because he was not present in court.
The warrant has been stayed until November 8 as Phillips has sent a medical report to the court.
The medical report disclosed that Phillips was suffering from back pains and was confined to bed.
Phillips is involved in a custody and maintenance battle with his wife Michelle.
On September 23, Phillips appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. He is facing a charge of assault occasioning actual body harm. It is being alleged that he assaulted his wife.
Phillips' bail was extended for him to return to court on November 18.
