Two illegal firearms and more than 200 rounds of ammunition have been taken off the nation's streets following two operations by the Denham Town police in the west Kingston division earlier this week.
The police report that during the first operation, carried out yesterday, they raided a premises at 167 Levers Pathway, Arnett Gardens, where an M1 30-30 rifle with 15 rounds of ammunition was recovered.

Shortly after, the lawmen reaped success again, this time after searching premises located at 32 Rodent Street. Nine 7.62 calibre rounds were found. No one was taken into custody in relation to the finds of yesterday's raid. However, one man was arrested and charged with illegal possession of ammunition, following Monday's operation.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Arthur Brown of the Denham Town police said Damion Osbourne, otherwise known as, 'Dodo Bwoy', of a Trench Town address, was arrested after six .45 calibre rounds of ammunition were found on his person. He said Osbourne has been a person of interest to the police for some time.
DSP Brown said 205 M16 rounds and an additional 16 rounds of 7.62 calibre ammunition were also found in the Wilton Gardens (Rema) community during Monday's operation.

The senior officer indicated that the seizures were aimed at curbing crime in the division and safeguarding the communities. "We are working to stay on top of the crime situation and ensure the public's safety," DSP Brown said. "These seizures are highlighting the successes we are having in the communities and we intend to build on them. Our presence is being felt and is
