As the Digicel Rising Stars fourth season winds down to the final two this weekend, the students of the Rusea's High School in Hanover got a taste of their top three finalists on Wednesday.
It was excited, screaming students that welcomed Cameal Davis and Kahlil, but quietly booed the group SLR. However, they soon cheered them on after the master of ceremonies discouraged their behaviour. What was clear is that if the Rusea's students were the ones determining the winner of the competition, it would be the boys from Montego Bay, Kahlil.
shy boys
It was hard for contestant, Cameal to get a male student to grace the stage with her, but it did not take any effort from Kahlil to get the girls to join them on stage. From the moment Kahlil's name was announced teachers had to help restrain the screaming girls from rushing to the quintet.
Cameal was the first to enter the stage and she started her set with Gladys Knight's I don't want to know. She was well-received and had the crowd in a frenzy when she serenaded a male student with Beyonce's Dangerously In Love and ended her set with the students doing well on back up with Spotlight.
energetic self
The members of Kahlil were their usual energetic self as they belted out Dennis Brown's Love And Hate and were flocked by female students, who refused to let them go as they performed their rendition of Shai's If I Ever Fall In Love Again.
SLR, which was short one member due to illness, only performed one song Nothing to Smile About by Morgan's Heritage to end the concert.
The Rusea's students then flocked the tour bus, which transported the Rising Stars to the venue, but could only manage to slide papers through a crack in the window to get their autographs.
