Tarrus Riley - contributed
Reggae singer Tarrus Riley is a man well travelled. Riley recently returned from a four-week tour of the United States and Canada.
The 'She's Royal' tour featured Riley as the main act with opening performances by Dean Fraser, Duane Stephenson and backing by the Black Soil band.
According to Riley, the tour encompassed a few dates in Canada as well as the Northeast and midwest states in the US. "It was really a promotional tour, which was a success in the sense that it was just me and being a 'She's Royal' tour it really set the foundation so we know that di people are listening," Riley explained.
This is not Riley's first tour, having travelled throughout Europe, Japan and the Caribbean. However, it was his first tour as the main act. One of the most memorable moments for Riley was a studio performance he did for XM Satellite Radio. XM Satellite Radio is America's number one Satellite Radio service, operated by Sirius XM Radio. Its service includes 73 different music channels, 39 news, sports, talk and entertainment channels, 21 regional traffic and weather channels and 23 play-by-play sports channels.

"We performed at XM Radio live, me and my band, which was a nice promotional vibe, it will be played on an international scene for like a month. This was a big deal because only Morgan Heritage and Jimmy Cliff have ever really done it. Is a place where people like Eric Clapton, B.B King have performed. You have to be real musical to play there," Riley explained.
For Riley, there were other memorable moments on the tour. "When we were in Rally in Canada, we had to sing di She's Royal song like six or seven times. They knew all the other songs but they loved that one. The women came on stage dancing.
Right now, it lift my spirit to know that people are listening to me."
The singer is taking time to relax and enjoy his family, while his new song, Human Nature, gets airplay. According to Riley, he is also looking to do a video with Bugle for their song Love Reigns. He told the STAR that he is also in the studio working on his third, yet -to-be-titled, album.
Riley is also looking to explore other avenues in the business world.
"Right now, wi a focus on the business ting. mi waan mek some good business decisions 'cause wi prove to di people dat we can sing and write but we now have to make some good business decisions so that reggae music cover all four corners of the world," he said.
