Dear Pastor,

I'm a 16-year-old guy in a situation.

I got into an argument with my dad. He yelled at me and took my phone. I got so angry that I started to swear and curse my dad.

He got very angry and punched me in the face three times. My eye got swollen and black and blue. I called the police. I did not press charges but, because the police here have zero tolerance to domestic violence, charges will be laid against him.

I really don't want him to be arrested and locked up. He has threatened to disown me.

Pastor, what have I done?

Dear Scared.

Ask other family members to speak to your dad. He lost his cool and you lost your cool. Your dad will need a lawyer but every-thing will work out. You should tell him you are sorry and he will do the same, I am sure.
