Man killed in car crash

A man was killed and two other persons injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Rhodes Hall main road in Green Island, Hanover, yesterday morning.

Dead is Ricardo Clarke 22, of Prosper Road, Lucea, while injured are Lennox Bert, 40, of Green Island and 44-year-old Rudolph Simms of Orange Bay, all in Hanover.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network's liaison officer for Hanover are that about 1 a.m., Clarke was driving a Toyota Corolla motor car along the Rhodes Hall main road heading towards Negril.

Burnt to death

On reaching a section of the roadway, the vehicle was involved in a collision with a Toyota Corolla station wagon motor car travelling in the opposite direction.

Clarke, who was trapped inside the car, burnt to death after it burst into flames. Bert and Simms who were occupants in the station wagon sustained injuries and were taken to the Noel Holmes Hospital and later transferred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were admitted.

The Green Island police are investigating.
