Being the 'special' man in Etana's life means understanding the public scrutiny, as well as knowing how to deal with her busy schedule.

'Kinda dating'

Etana told the STAR that she has someone special in her life, and that she is "kinda dating" right now but contrary to rumours, her beau is not fellow singer Tarrus Riley.

According to Etana, they are just friends. "Yuh see people don't see me around that many males so when they see me around that one person or two persons dem start seh is yuh man. We're friends, we write together and talk about the business a lot," she said.

Someone who understands

Etana says when she is in a relationship she believes it is best not to put it on display as people who might not agree with her choice might try to break it up. She explained, "as an artiste there has to be someone who understands what you're doing, you could be away for 2-3 months. Someone who's also busy can understand. They won't be at home waiting on you."
