Cops put major dent in illegal DVD trade

Spanish Town

The police in Spanish Town claim they have made a major dent in the illegal DVD trade, with the seizure of more than 1,500 DVDs.

One man has been taken into custody. They also seized several burners and computers.

Reports are that on Wednesday about 5 p.m., the police went to a section of Spanish Town known as Redemption Ground. During a search, the items were located.

The police told THE STAR that the operation will put a dent in the activities of persons producing DVD and CDs. They said the drive to wipe out the practice would be continuing in earnest.

The name of the man is being withheld as investigations are ongoing.
