A man whose obsession with a woman might have led him to break into her house to steal photographs of her, was remanded when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court for housebreaking and larceny.
Radcliff Grant of Bogue, St. James, pleaded not guilty, claiming that he had observed another man on several occasions peeking at the complainant and said he had not done what the allegations implied.
Grant, who appeared and was sentenced to six months in prison for larceny in the Sav-la-Mar RM Court last year, will remain in custody until September 19, as a probation officer was ordered to contact family members so the accused could relocate, if offered bail on the next occasion.
The prosecution is alleging that the complainant locked and left her home on August 28, but returned the following day and saw the words, 'love you 100%', written on her coffee table, using decorations.
She went to her wardrobe where she observed that $5,000 was missing from her purse and two photographs missing.
When she spoke to neighbours she was allegedly told that the accused was seen climbing out her window at 4:30 that morning.
She made a report and when Grant was arrested the photographs were recovered. however, he said that he did not break into her house and said a woman had given him the photos.
The complainant told the police the accused was always staring at her and making provocative statements prior to the incident.
