Despite the challenges involved in entering the music business manager Steve Billings has mastered the art of faith and is now set on establishing a strong foundation.

Billings, executive producer of the one-year-old Braeton Connections, based in Braeton, St Catherine hopes the hard work invested will earn the record label recognition among the big names.

"We want to be the premiere production company in Portmore," Billings said. "We see ourselves up there with the Steven McGregor's, and all those big name producers," he added.

Presently, the company has four artistes Emmanuel B, Krushal, Aktar, and 12 Gage assigned to the label. The manager said they have been getting regular airplay and promised that in a few years this would increase.

"We have some very strong artistes on our label... the ultimate goal is to have the artistes fully recognised locally, and later move on to the international scene," Billings said.

To date, the company has released two rhythms, 'War Dem' and 'Scream', which have featured popular dancehall artistes such as Anthony B, Vybz Kartel, Macka Diamond and Demarco.

Deva Brat, Perfect, Singer J, Sample Six, and Mickey Pelpa have all voiced songs on the rhythms produced by engineer Patrick 'Weed Seed' Billings, who brother Steve Billings praised for his hard work.

"We have a young engineer... called 'Weed Seed', him is the one behind this. We have all types of rhythms to come out," he said.

The time has come for duo Emmanuel B and 12 Gage to show the world their talent, and they are very content about the promise that lies ahead.

"We ago be the next big thing... a not if, but, or maybe it's just a matter of time," said the duo.
