Stone Love selector, Iceberg. - Anthony Minott
Having been discovered by Stone Love's Billy Slaughter, sound system selector Iceberg - real name Brian Ellison - says his stint with Stone Love has taught him a lot.
In recalling how his talent was discovered, Iceberg says, "At first, I used to play at a little club in Duhaney Park, then I moved to the La Chic club in Red Hills, where I met Billy Slaughter. He saw the potential and brought me to Stone Love, and from there mi jus log in and deal wid di ting."
Iceberg, who has been with Stone Love for six years, says he is loving the experience.
"I'm enjoying the flow and I've been playing a lot of places, both locally and overseas," he said. He recalls a show earlier this year in New Jersey as one of his most memorable. "Everyt'ing did jus' connect and I was playing solo," he said.
Rates himself
Iceberg, who rates himself among the 'top 10' selectors worldwide says, "My connection is different, my style is unique... I make the music do the talking."
Come Wednesday, September 17, fans will get a chance to see Iceberg in action, as he will be celebrating his birthday at Weddy Weddy Wednesdays.
He promises much fun and excitement. "Weddy Weddy on a whole is a vibes place, and on my birthday there will be a little more hype. We'll have special guests like CD Master, Kurt Riley, Krazy Kris and Lincoln from Renais-sance, just to name a few."
The event will be sponsored by Magnum Tonic Wine and new energy drink, Bullet.
