Etana showcases the finished product: cous cous, cream of pumpkin soup, vegetables and salmon.
STAR of the month Etana prepared a special vegetarian meal of Salmon, couscous, cream of pumpkin soup and a salad last Wednesday evening.
The prerparation of the scrumptious meal was done in beautiful home of singer Marcia Griffiths.
Etana, who became a vegetarian just four years ago, cites Salmon as her favourite dish. According to Etana, she learnt a lot of her culinary skills from her musical and culinary idol Marcia Griffiths.
Having marinated the salmon in seasoning overnight, Etana put the fish to fry in coconut oil, and joked, "even if di food nuh season good, the coconut oil will mek it taste good."

As the scent of the coconut oil filled the air, Etana cut up the vegetables for the salad, while she checked on her pumpkin soup. Marcia was in and out of the kitchen encouraging the young songstress, "yes girl, it smell good, the coconut oil smell cook."
Etana, who is a regular in Marcia's kitchen, especially when the singer is preparing salmon, praised Marcia's skills.
She was at first a little nervous with persons watching and taking pictures of her while she was cooking, but Etana soon got calmer as she told THE STAR about what she had already prepared.
"Yuh dice up fruits, whatever you have, blend it and you use that to put over the fish to give it a slightly fruity taste. The cabbage you stir-fry with pak choi, a little ginger, pepper and onion. The couscous is like a grain that is very healthy, you add some to some boiling water, margarine and a little sea salt and let it cook for five minutes. While the pumpkin soup: you boil the pumpkin, and put in some blended soy milk, a little salt, onion, garlic and cook," she explained.
Etana's road manager Lerone Chutkan and publicist Christopher Campbell were on hand to marvel at Etana's cooking as they anxiously waited for the fish to fry.
When the fish was finished, Etana poured the fruit mix over it and arranged the plate, as she sat down by the table with her meal. When THE STAR tasted a bit of each dish, we decided that even though Etana doesn't get to cook often, when she does, she cooks well.
