Dear Pastor,
I am having a huge problem and I don't know how to fix it. I recently grauated from one of Jamaica's top high schools, entered college and turned 18.
Outbox messages
Now, my problem is, a week or so ago I gave my boyfriend, who is 25, my cellphone while I went on a trip with my family to the north coast for a few days. And when I came back, he called me, very upset, saying that he had found a text in my phone's outbox to one of his friends, who is also a friend of mine, because we all live in the same com-munity. I admit that I sent the text to this friend, but it was a joke.
Some sort of a crush
This friend, like a lot of our friends in the community, has some sort of a crush on me, but I couldn't care for him because I am in love with my ex. I was just playing this guy. I do that. When guys flirt with me, I lead them on for a while then tell them subtly that I am not interested in them, because I have a boyfriend. I do this so the guys will be en-couraged to go find girls and to still have respect for them.
Now, after my boyfriend got all mad after seeing that text, he barely gave me a chance to explain and he just told me to go be with the other guy and not speak to him anymore. He won't answer my calls and won't reply to my texts. I have since turned off my phone and put it away.
Shock over the break-up
I don't want anyone calling me if it isn't him. I'm sure he knows how much I love him and want him back. I am depressed and still in shock over the break-up. I really hate that we broke up over a stupid joke.
Please, tell me what you think I should do, because I love my ex with every fibre of my being and it makes me sick just being away from him for so long.

Dear P.F.,
I wish you had told me what the text was about. Anyway, it must have been something that gave your boyfriend the impression that you are playing around. Time will tell if you are playing around or if you told your boyfriend the truth. So cool it and see whether this guy will come around. Seems to me that you flirt a lot.
