Severed head leaves cops clueless

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

spanish town

The St Catherine North police said that one of two murders committed in the division yesterday, is a reprisal, while no motive has been established for the other in which a man's severed head was found.

Those killed are Doran Hutchinson, 35, a truck driver from Frazer's Content, labourer Lionel 'Nanni Boy' Williams, 21, of Tredegar Park, both in St Catherine.

Sprayed with bullets

Police say about 7 a.m., Hutchinson was driving a truck in Frazer's Content when he was approached by a group of gunmen. He tried to drive away but the truck was sprayed with bullets. He died in hospital. The police while processing the murder scene, found an illegal pistol in the truck. Homicide detectives theorised that Hutchinson was killed as a reprisal for the killing of another man in the community on Wednesday.

In the other incident, about 6:55 a.m. passers-by saw Williams' severed head in the Tredegar Park square and called the police. A search was launched for the body but it was not found.

Yesterday's incidents bring to 141, the number of murders committed in the division.
