A lick and a promise

Dear Pastor,

I am a 22-year-old woman and I am bisexual. I am in love with a girl who is five years younger than I am. I am in a relationship, but she lives in Jamaica and I live in New York. I love her and she loves me. She is the first female I have ever been with. My problem is, I don't know how to confront my family about my sexual orientation. I am worried that they will turn against me. My girlfriend wants me to come out and be honest. She says if I don't tell my family, she doesn't see any future for us because she doesn't want it to be a secret.

Pastor, tell me what to do.

L., New York, USA

Dear L.,

This girl you claim to be your lover is insisting that you tell your family members that you are a lesbian. Well, you said bisexual. You probably have boyfriends too.

I cannot encourage you to live this kind of lifestyle and it is totally up to you whether or not you wish to talk to your family members about your lifestyle.

Pastor
