It is quite heart-warming to see the return of patriotism to our nation.
While our national athletes showed to the world just what they were made of in Beijing, China, one could not help but notice the showing of togetherness which was incited.
The flags, the colours, the gatherings and the celebrations are all signs that we can come together as a nation at any point in time should we just decide to.
As Melaine Walker nabbed another gold medal for us, residents of her hometown immediately urged for peace to which warring factions agreed.
Such an agreement is definitely welcomed as in our society which is often marred by crime and violence, whatever ways in which peace and togetherness is obtained must be truly embraced.
In truth and fact, we Jamaicans have always found some unique ways to show our togetherness.
And with this medium, success is no different.
While we now bask in the aura of such success though, we must aim at continuing along the new path we have created and not just put up a show before going back to what we were before.
What we have witnessed over the last few days is a reminder that anything is possible considering hard work and dedication are involved.
So, let us continue on this path of togetherness, it is long overdue and only we can do it for the sake of 'Jamaica land we love'.
