Dear Pastor,
I am writing to you concerning the crime that is taking over Jamaica. I am a Jamaican and this really grieves my heart badly. I have to wonder why our country has to be turning into a lawless society.
First the government needs to come up with a solution to get rid of these murderers. A lot of Jamaican women know that their sons, boyfriends and brothers are thugs, who are going around stealing and killing innocent, law-abiding citizens. What kind of heart can these people have to be hiding and shielding these men?
I am not saying they are condoning these acts of evil, but a lot of them are doing these things by supporting wrongdoing. If parents or girlfriends are involved in this way of life, they should be sent to prison for life.
Out of hand
Crime in Jamaica is getting so out of hand that I am so scared in my own country. No one seems to be safe anywhere anymore.
These so-called singers with their violent lyrics that glorify crime and violence should not get any airplay, and no well-thinking law-abiding citizen anywhere in the world, should ever buy their songs. I am so worried to see the decline of our country, because we don't have respect for law and order.
Crime is Jamaica's number one problem. No one seems to die peacefully in their sleep at an old age anymore. It is so sad to see young men dying like mosquitos every day, so cruelly and brutally.
Best regards and keep praying that God will heal our nation.
R.S., St Elizabeth, Jamaica
Dear R.S.,
Fighting crime is everybody's business. Therefore, everybody ought to cooperate with the police by telling what he/she knows. Don't give up on Jamaica.
