Dear Pastor,
I am having a serious problem. I am 20 years old and I have a son. His father is a married man who treats me very well. He does everything for me even though I am working. I love him very much. He would come and spend two nights of each week at my house, but I need some more of his time and he keeps telling me that it's hard for him to do any better because of his situation and I must just try and understand.
We don't have a future together and that kind of hurts, but I told him that it's best we part because I am hurting emotionally. I am not ungrateful or anything, but I am just willing to let go even though I don't want to. But he's saying that he's not leaving me because he loves me too much and he can't do without me. He said that I never loved him because if you love someone, you can't unlove them or you wouldn't walk away from them.
Pastor, please, I am asking for your advice because I love this man very much.

Dear C.S.,
You speak highly of this man. He has been good to you. But you are aware that there is no future in the relationship. So, my dear, break it off.
He will beg you to stay. If you are wise, you will thank him for being good to you, but you must move on. If he will not allow you to leave, lock the doors of your apartment and don't answer your phone. And stop entertaining him when he visits you.
Pastor
