Dear Pastor,
I was a young girl who fell for a police officer and had a child in 1990. When I was pregnant he went to a track meet in Florida because he was also an athlete and did not return to Jamaica. He has since married and has two sons in Florida. He also has other kids he left behind in Jamaica. I knew that they lived in Central Village, Spanish Town and their last name is Fagan. My child wants to meet his brothers, sisters and any other family members, but my relatives are saying no.
Do you think that I should try and locate them for my child's sake or should I leave it alone?
T.B., Kingston, Jamaica
Dear T.B.,
I suggest that you tell the father of your child that your son would like to know his siblings so he should tell them about him and send you their names and addresses. Or if he prefers, he could give them the address of you and your son.
