Good buddy

Dear Pastor,

I am 21 years old and I have been with a girl for about five years now. We started talking from high school days and throughout that time I have been accusing her of cheating, and all etc. In reality, I have never proven her to actually cheat on me. In the end I was always accusing her wrongfully, and there have been times when she almost left me because of things like those, but I knew in myself that I am the one who is wrong so!! I would just be a man and apologise, then a week after we are cool.

I really love her and I always push her to aim for her goals in life. I tell her to put nothing before them except for the Lord. I am always looking out for her in every way, especially when it comes to her schooling and when she is upset whether because of a family problem, or whatever problem she is having. I am always there to comfort her and encourage her to stay strong and to deal with the problems one day at a time.

I am not a cheater

I am not a cheater. Believe it or not, I have never cheated on her and I trust her 99.9% now because she is an awesome girl, and no matter what I was always wrong in accusing her. She always looks out for me in every way, and encourages me to go after my goals as well. The problem is, friends of mine always say that I am a fool to have one woman in my life, and no other. They say men must have more than one woman, because women in general cannot be trusted, but pastor I know that a lot of women out there are also saying that no good man is still alive, but I can say I am one. I strongly believe that I have got my soulmate, but doubts come up in my mind sometimes about getting cheated on. I know that there are a lot of good hidden women in the world, but it's for us to find them.

Pastor, what should I believe and do?

D. A., St Catherine, Jamaica

Dear D. A.,

I pray that this relationship will grow stronger and that this woman and you will in the future become husband and wife.

Don't allow friends to cause you to do foolish things.

Pastor
