Remove that book!

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I strongly believe that the book entitled "Some of the World's Greatest in Sports" should be removed from our primary schools.

Sir, I am not comfortable with the photographs shown on pages 34, 36, 37 and 40.

All these photographs portray some violent scenes. Three of them show Cassuis Marcellus Clay (Mohammed Ali) delivering some heavy blows to his opponents.

Are these the type of acts we want to highlight to children in a primary school? Its certainly not healthy for them to emulate and glorify someone who walks in a boxing ring to flatten his opponent.

Sir some of our children are reared in a violent environment why should a school provide them with further lessons in violence? "Some of the World's Greatest in Sports" is published by The Ministry of Education and written by Karl Phillpotts.

I am etc.
