Lightning Bolt locks down world record

Lightning Bolt - ap

The Editor, Sir:

By this moment the 100 metres should have been finished at the Olympics games and Bolt should be celebrating his 100m world record.

What I saw in the preliminary is a sure indication that Bolt will conquer the world in record time. The main rivals must be now nervous by the sheer smoothness in Bolt's running and attitude towards his job. He has a job to do and he is going to do what he does best.

I actually witnessed a man jogging 100 metres at the Olympic level. I was wondering if my eyes were fooling me or if I was in a dream or this was the déja vu I had expected. This young man is remarkable. I am glued to my TV to witness this splendid feat. Tyson Gay looks lethargic and tired throughout the rounds. I figure he is aware that his moment has passed. The writing is on the wall concerning who will stand on the highest rung of the podium in the 100 metres.

Usain is just as smart over the 200 metres as well. I know he is going to win the double. Asafa is a fine guy but I am afraid he will have to sweat it out this time again. Bolt is going to run in the 9.6 region and Asafa is going do just as well too, in the low 9.7. I salute our two warriors because they are going to do us proud.

I am etc
