Two men accused of stealing alcohol and other beverages from a supermarket in Black River, St Elizabeth, were each offered $80,000 bail with one or two sureties when they appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday.
Henry McDonald, aka 'Chuck Chuck', and Clive Drummond, both of Crawford district in the parish, are jointly charged with shop breaking and larceny. They are to report to the Black River Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Allegations are that between July 14, and 17 both men reportedly broke into the store room of Naps Supermarket located on High Street, Black River where they stole a quantity of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks valued at $45,000.
The theft was reported to the Black River Police and both men were later arrested and charged.
They are booked to return to the Black River RM Court on September 19.
