Players gear up for 'Best of the Rest' tournament

Portmore players are gearing up for the lucrative 'Best of the Rest' Part I double-elimination eight-ball pool tournament scheduled for August 23 and 24 at the Hot Shots Pool Bar, 103 Constant Spring Road (Consumer Plaza), starting at 1:30 p.m. each day.

This tournament should include the island's top-ranked pool player Sunil 'Termite' Kissendal who resides in Portmore. Kissendal has been absent from local competitions in recent months, having visited Las Vegas and New York in an effort to improve his game.

The tournament offers a first prize of $70,000 in addition to a trophy, second $30,000 and trophy, third and fourth $10,000 each, while players finishing from fifth to eighth place will receive $5,000 each.

There will also be a $5,000 cash incentive for the best female player. Entry fee is $2,5000 and entries will close on Friday, August 22 at 9:30 p.m.

The tournament is being sponsored by Allied Protection Limited, Tropical Metal Products Limited, WSI and TDC Imports along with Hot Shots Pool Bar.
