Williams was remanded on Thursday when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court. He is to be assessed for a legal aid lawyer to represent him on his next court date scheduled for August 28.
Argument
It is alleged that on July 31, the complainant and the two accused men got into an argument at a construction site. The complainant left the site but was trailed by the men. Williams allegedly stabbed him in the abdomen and his accomplice chopped him to the left elbow and fled.
The police were called to the scene where the complainant pointed out Williams to the police. The complainant was then taken to the hospital where he spent three days.
Resident Magistrate Winsome Henry ordered that Williams be remanded.
She also instructed that the investigating officer speak to the complainant, who was present and still seemed to still be suffering from his injuries, to ascertain if he needed further medical attention.
The court is awaiting the medical report.
