In keeping with the Olympic fever, the Miss Jamaica World Pageant 2008 has been appropriately themed 'In Search of Gold'. Sixteen young ladies will be going for the gold in this year's pageant and the chance to represent Jamaica in Kiev, Ukraine.
This weekend the ladies will make their last public appearance before the Grand Finals on August 16 at the Sovereign Centre, Liguanea starting at 1 pm on Saturday, August 10.
The ladies will be parading in sensational swimwear by The Mushroom, and casual pieces by renowned designers Neahlis and Uzuri.
On Sunday, August 10 the girls will take the heat to Ward Avenue, Mandeville for an 'Evening of Elegance' at Chaddiz Chateau, where the girls will once again parade in swimwear and casual pieces by the named designers.
Beenie Man
The Doctor Beenie Man will be heading out for his European tour this summer. The tour, which kicks off today in Lisbon, Portugal, will travel to parts of Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Italy and France, before ending in Tilburg on Wednesday, August 27.
Following the tour, Beenie will head to New York where he is confirmed as the headline act at Irie Jamboree '08.

The video directed by Ras Tingle was shot on location at Water Works, in Cherry Gardens; Constant Spring Golf Club; Hughenden and Moscow, in Waterhouse.
