A Kingstonian who allegedly attempted to defraud a credit union account of over $1 million, was remanded when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magis-trate's Court on Wednesday.
Courtney Williams of Albert Street, Kingston 16, was without legal representation. However, he was uncertain as to whether he was guilty or not for charges of obtaining money by false pretence, three counts of possession of forged documents and uttering forged
documents.
Instead of saying 'guilty' or 'not guilty', he told the court that he was inveigled by other persons to carry out the offence for which he has now found himself in trouble with the law.

Allegations are that he went to the Montego Bay Branch of the City of Kingston Co-operative Credit Union and tried to obtain $1.3 million using a driver's licence, a voter identification card and a tax registration number (TRN) in the name of an account holder.
The teller became suspicious and called in the police. It was later confirmed that the three documents were forged.
Williams, who is to be assessed for legal aid, also told the court that he was charged for murder but says the matter was dismissed against him as the persons responsible were found.
He is scheduled to return to court on August 5.
