Firearm found on 16-y-o youth

A 16-year-old Portmore boy was arrested and charged for breaching the Firearms Act after he was held by citizens on the Newlands main road, in the Sunshine City recently.

Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, robbery with aggravation and shooting with intent is a 16-year-old youth of Gregory Park in Portmore.

Reports from the police are that about 7:30 p.m. a resident saw the youngster riding a bicycle, which he had allegedly stolen from him the night before.

He made an alarm and the boy was held and searched. A .38 Smith and Wesson revolver was found in his waistband. The police were called, the firearm was handed over and the youth taken into custody.

Following investigations he was arrested and charged. The Portmore police are still investigating.
