Bitter sweet

Dear Pastor,

I have been dating a man for six years now. Things were really rocky at first, but as time progressed, it became a beautiful relationship. In May last year, we tied the knot and it has been going well. The problem is this: I live in New York and he lives in Jamaica. My family thinks that the only reason he got married to me was to get his status here. On the other hand, I don't believe that because my daughter still resides in Jamaica and he does everything for her.

Please, pastor, give me your advice. I'm madly in love with him.

L.H., New York, USA

Dear L.H.,

Your parents should not say things to make you feel unhappy. They should keep out of your married life. Long distance relationships are tough, but they can work. Time will prove whether this man married you for love or to get a green card.
