A Portmore, St Catherine, resident who was arrested at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay last weekend after the police observed him selling marijuana, will be sentenced in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on July 28.
Clinton Smith, who pleaded guilty to possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and resisting arrest, asked that the money the police took from him be returned to him so he could pay any fines that might be imposed.
However, the court was informed that on Saturday, July 19, at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre, a police team on duty at the festival observed Smith, for about two hours, selling ganja to patrons.
When the police accosted him, it is said he resisted and had to be restrained by four cops.
The police reportedly seized a half pound of ganja, $45,800, and US$43 from Smith.
