Eastern fall to Dragon

Long-time leaders Eastern All-Stars suffered a rare defeat last Sunday in the ninth round of the Wray & Nephew premier league skittles competition, going down 8-3 to Dragon in their battle of the east clash at Dragon, 36 Giltress Street, Rollington Town.

Dragon came from behind twice to win at 6-3 and eventually 8-3. Their winning players were Errol Wright, Gregory Roache, Clinton Thompson, Ronald Robinson, Roy DaCosta, Frankie Cole, Cosmo 'Killer' Gardener and Everett Melbourne.

In the other premier league clash at the same venue last Sunday, Cherry's Strikers defeated Mystix 6-5 (6-1) to be joint leaders with Eastern All-Stars in the standings.

Both lead with 21 points from nine matches (seven wins, two losses), followed by Mystix with 12 points, Dragon and Rowe's Strikers both with nine points from eight matches with this year's Pattex Cup champions Meadow-vale bringing up the rear with six points.

The matches scheduled for tomorrow are Rowe's vs Mystix in premier league action at Chelsea Jerk Centre, while Mister C will oppose Mercury in a major league encounter at the same venue.
