Delloreen Ennis-London

FORMER national senior representative Ainsley Waugh, along with national 100 metres silver medallist Shelly Ann Frazer, were victorious at the Lingnano Track and Field Meet in Italy on Sunday, while World 100 metres hurdles bronze medallist Delloreen Ennis-London won in Rethymno yesterday.

Waugh, who is based with the MVP Track Club in Italy, was a double winner as he took the 100 metres in 10.49 seconds and competing in a negative wind of 3.3 metres per second he captured the 200 metres in 20.60. His teammate, André Wellington, who was recently selected for the Beijing Olympic Games, was third in both events. Wellington's time in the 100m was 10.55 while he clocked 21.0 over 200m.

Shelly Ann Frazer, second-place finisher at the National Championships in the women's 100 metres, in her first competitive meet since the championships, won the women's 100m in 11.31. Her teammate, Anneisha McLaughlin, was second in 11.60.

Winning ways

At the Rethymno meet in Greece, Ennis-London, following her close second-place finish to Brigitte Foster-Hylton at the Rome Golden League meet last Friday, returned to winning ways when she captured the 100m hurdles in 12.62. The American pair of Nicole Denby (12.88) and Candice Davis (12.90) finished second and third, respectively.

National 200m bronze medallist Christopher Williams was fourth in the men's 100m in 10.30 and third in the 200m in 20.84. Trinidad and Tobago's Marc Burns won the 100m 'A' race in a quick 10.03.

Following her third-place finish behind Melaine Walker in the Rome Golden League 400 metre hurdles, American Tiffany Ross Williams bounced back to win the women's 400 metres hurdles in 54.79 to get the better of Poland's Anna Jesein, who was second in 55.43.
