Flames win third game of season

Portmore Flames won their third game of the season in the Jamaica Basketball Association/KFC National Basketball League, beating the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) 70-65 to improve their win-loss record to 3-4 at the Stadium Courts on Monday.

17 pts for reid

Flames were led by rookie Phillip Reid with 17 points and six rebounds, while Adrian Coote and Akeem Swaby chipped in with 14 and 13 points respectively. Feurtado Clarke (18), Dermaine Foster (14), and Denroy Barnaby (13) scored most points for the JDF.

Flames will next play last year's beaten finalist Blazing Panthers at the Stadium Courts this evening at 7:45. In the earlier game at 6:00 p.m., Arnett Gardens Rockers take on newcomer Catherine Hall All Stars.
