The man who has not yet been identified is of brown complexion and slim build. He was also reportedly dressed in a red and white striped polo shirt, cut off jeans pants and a pair of black and brown sneakers.

Police reports are that shortly before 3:00 a.m., a licensed firearm holder was at home when he was attacked by two armed men.

He reportedly challenged the men in a shoot-out, after which the men ran.

The police were alerted and on their arrival, one of of the men was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, Constable Frater is reportedly in serious but stable condition at hospital.

The cop who is attached to the Organised Crime Investigative Division was walking along Portmore Drive in Portmore, St. Catherine about 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, when he was approached by two men who opened fire hitting him several times.
