When the sun hit the majestic cannons keeping watch at Fort Charles in Port Royal on Saturday, patrons were drunkenly partying at Osmosis.
The long line of traffic to get into Fort Charles was the first sign that Port Royal was more vibrant than usual as patrons flocked in droves to the party.
Inside the venue, the food area was buzzing with activity as persons tried to sample everything from the cuisine available. The food was excellent, with restaurants such as TGIF, Gourmet to Go, Shrimps to Go and others giving samples of their food. The bars were well stocked and many persons visited them to get into the party mood.
The venue looked elegant with white as the major decorative theme, while beside the selector's booth, girls danced behind a white cloth for the entire night to keep the vibe going.
Persons were unwilling to dance at first, with many just socialising and making an appearance. Entertainers made an appearance throughout the night with Wayne Marshall, Leftside, Tessanne Chin, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Bling Dawg and DeMarco all standing and listening to the music.
Renaissance was up first, playing mainly rap music, which hardly got persons dancing. However, only one lady dressed in white took to the centre of the dance floor.
Delightful eyeful

The fashion was trendy with many women wearing cute, short dresses, giving the men a delightful eyeful. However, for the women it was a struggle to dance as the venue was not conducive to doing so in high heels.
A few females had to kick off their heels, while one or two women complained about theirs breaking off. The party finally moved into high gear when Coppershot took over the turntables at 2 a.m.
DJ Donny and DJ Cutty expertly navigated the party, starting out with Fallen Soldiers, and giving the crowd a few pop hits as Cutty bigged up all the women who were single.
A slew of Munga and Vybz Kartel hits kept the
vibe going as the women took positions on the upper levels of the dance floor where everyone could see them.
Persons sweating
Some men were in heaven as the women wined to the floor. But while some persons got into the vibe, the majority still stood around socialising instead of partying.
DJ Shane soon took over after playing soca, which kept persons sweating, before he switched to rock music, which some appreciated.
After 4 a.m. when the team thought the music wasn't going to get any better, DJ Christoff and DJ Dre from Renaissance came back with a fury
They played newer dancehall songs, Renaissance bringing 'downtown' music to an uptown party and getting the right mix with Serani's She Loves Me, No Games, Study People and Doh, alongside Konshens' Winner.
Then it was time for the 'daggering' music with Beenie Man's Jiggle Up, Kartel's Touch Me, and others. Still most patrons maintained their stand-and-stare attitude even while others broke loose to the music.
Osmosis had all the right elements for a good party: excellent food, creative selectors and a full house of patrons.
