A policeman suspected of being involved in extortion was arrested and another from the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) is also being sought.
The policeman was arrested in a sting operation in St James, recently.
According to a release issued by the police, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force arrested Detective Constable Roger Forrester of the St James Division.
The release further said that the arrest came after investigations by the ACB into charges of extortion on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, and a sting operation in a car park near to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Courthouse.
It is alleged that Forrester and another officer from the ISCF are both suspected of being involved in this case of extortion. Forrester is currently being interviewed by members of the ACB.
