Woodlawns regain primary crown

Woodlawns regained the Wheels & Wheels-sponsored cricket championship for primary schools in Manchester when they defeated first-time finalists Bellefield by three wickets in a game played at Manchester High.

Woodlawns who were beaten finalists the previous year, won the toss and inserted Bellefield who made what seemed like a competitive 86 all out from 23 of the allocated 25 overs. Stars for the champions were Shumar Dixon who bagged four for 10 and opener Kashane McDonald who struck 32 in the run chase that ended on 89 for seven.

McIntosh Memorial. Batting first, McIntosh could only muster 60 for nine off their allocated 20 overs. From a comfortable position of 42 for two, Woodlawns received a scare mainly from a five-wicket haul from Randel Johnson to slip to 55 for six before earning victory.
