TIME OF MY LIFE, an easy winner by five lengths over 1100 metres last time out in the $220,000 claiming group, is a firm banker in tomorrow's fourth race over 1000 metres round.
The evergreen seven-year-old gelding reports up in class after being claimed by Ryan Darby for owner Raphael Gordon but should still pack too much speed, now going the minimum distance, for YAMASHITA'S GOLD, PRINCESSJACQUELINE and BUSTER JACK.
The J.W. 'Judge' Hardie Memorial Cup over 1600m for the claiming group $470,000 - $420,000, race five on the programme, looks tailored for STRONG DELIVERY.
Last time on a $430,000 tag STRONG DELIVERY was just beaten, running on, by JACK BE GOOD going 1400m. Now set to 200m longer STRONG DELIVERY should get the better of I AM PAID FOR and RED LION who reports down in class very fit.
FIDDLE STICKS, back in action with her favourite jockey Richard Mitchell, could provide the answer to the very knotty sixth race over 1500m. She has proven difficult to follow after several below par efforts but showed up well over 1820 metres on June 14 behind EXPRESS CARD.
Shane Ellis who was aboard FIDDLE STICKS for her last three runs has now opted to ride SMILE OUT, but the latter appears held by the distance. SMILE OUT should also not finish ahead of MISS ROSE who had her behind over 1400m on April 5.
Trainer Anthony Nunes should complete a quick double in the seventh with FLAGAMAN. A progressive sort, FLAGAMAN whipped the highly thought of MR SKILL on his last outing on May 24 clocking a fairly good 1:06.4. Still well handicapped, the three-year-old gelding should make no mistake against lesser horses going 1000m straight.
hold the key
SIR MOHANDAS BABA who was declared a late non-starter because of lameness on June 21, comes back quickly against bottom of the barrel claimers in race eight.
The 12-year-old gelding, owned by Patrick Salmon and trained by Harry Sital, still packs a few punches. In his last race against this level on December 8, 2007 SIR MOHANDAS BABA won by all of eight lengths.
Jockey Paul Francis and GRACE MARIE hold the key to the final Super-6 event over 1200 metres. The four-year-old filly was sent much too far, 1700m, last time but gets the ideal distance tomorrow.
On May 31 GRACE MARIE was shut out losing by two lengths to CHADMAN going 1400m. CHADMAN has since gone on to beat grade one company and GRACE MARIE should stay just off the pace behind expected early leader RIGMAROLE and make a winning move 300m out.
The popular Pick-9 which stumped punters for a thirteenth straight race day on Wednesday, is expected to soar well past $20 million at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
On Wednesday, hundreds of punters who chased the $16.15 million carryover were left counting their losses as mild outsiders, PLEASURE FLIGHT at 5-1 in the third, SECRET HIDEAWAY, 6-1, in race five, LE CHIC at 11-1 in the sixth race and BONNIE'S VICTORY at 8-1 in the seventh made many vouchers useless after just five of the Pick-9 races.
On Wednesday, two lucky punters, with eight of nine, pocketed $416,500.50 each, while 32 with seven of nine collected $13,015.50. The carryover to tomorrow is a whopping $19,073,743.50.
The Pick-9 begins at the second race tomorrow.
