Scott in stable condition

Shalman Scott, recently appointed chairman of the Montego Bay Metro Service and former Mayor of Montego Bay who was shot five times by gunmen yesterday is reportedly in stable condition at hospital.

Scott who is also a political commentator was attacked by gunmen yesterday near his home in Coral Gardens, Montego Bay, St. James.

He was reportedly out jogging 6:00 a.m. when he was attacked.

Reports are that residents of the community heard Scott shouting for help, after which he was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was reportedly attacked by men travelling in a white Toyota Corolla motor car. The man were said to have called out to him before opening fire.

Scott was reportedly shot in the thigh and buttocks.

He was rushed to the Montego Bay Hope Hospital before being transferred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
