Nestlé pumps cash into Portmore cricket league

Nestle Jamaica Limited, through their Milo Brand, has pumped $400,000 in sponsorship into the Portmore Metropolitan Under-15 Cricket League. The sponsorship is $50,000 more than last year.

The announcement was made by Suzanne Wilson Wong, the company's category channel sales and development manager.

Wilson Wong handed over Nestlé's sponsorship cheque to Charles Simpson, President of the Portmore Metropolitan Cricket League (PMCL) at the league's opening ceremony and uniform parade at the Bridgeport Sports ground last Sunday.

Wilson Wong expressed satisfaction with the growth of the league over the years and gave gift baskets to three players from the league, who have represented Jamaica at the Under-15 level.

They are wicketkeeper Amadria Morris (Colours International), Delbert Gayle (Portsmouth), and Ramone Senior of champions Waterford. She added that with the current development of the league, Milo had no hesitation in extending its sponsorship for the fourth consecutive season.

Christeen Cummings, whose name the championship trophy honours, gave encouraging words to the youngsters while Milton Henry, secretary of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), expressed satisfaction with the league.

Meanwhile, Simpson thanked Milo for its dedication and sponsorship.
