Guatemala, Costa Rica, Cuba advance

HAVANA, Cuba, CMC

Cuba beat Antigua and Barbuda 4-0 (halftime 2-0) in their CONCACAF World Cup qualifying second-leg match at the Pedro Marrero Stadium yesterday.

Cuba advance - to the three-group CONCACAF semi-final round of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa 8-3 on aggregate after they had won the first leg 4-3 last weekend in Antigua.

Scorers: Cuba - Robert Linares 10th minute, 47th, 53rd, Jeniel Marquez 69th

Other results at the weekend: Guatemala beat St Lucia 3-1 (halftime 2-1) at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Guatemala advance 9-1 on aggregate after they had won the first leg 6-0 in St Lucia last weekend.

Scorers: Guatemala - Gonzalo Romero 24th, 43rd, Abner Trigueros 86th. St Lucia - Kenwan McPhee 45th.

In San Jose, Costa Rica beat Grenada 3-0 (halftime 2-0) at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium on Saturday night.

Costa Rica advance 5-2 on aggregate after the first-leg ended 2-2 in Grenada last weekend.

Scorers: Alvaro Saborio 17th, Brian Ruiz 30th, Randall Azofeifa 89th.
