Final four clash in Peter Lindsay memorial competition

Vietnam Alliance's Owen Gordon - file

The semi-finals of the Parts-A-Lot eight-a-side football competition, played in honour of Clarendon community football star Peter Lindsay, will take the spotlight on Saturday in Palmers Cross, Clarendon.

The first game at 3 p.m. features defending champions Webblanders against Vietnam Alliance while the second, an hour later, pits Original Hazard against Fresh Stars.

Webblanders booked their place last weekend when two goals from Devon Thomas defeated Khaki Suit 2-0. Vietnam Alliance had secured their place by defeating Herbs 1-0, courtesy of a goal scored by Owen 'Bam Bam' Gordon, who played on the recent Sporting Central team which finished sixth in the National Premier League.

Another Premier League player, Kemar Mills, played a hand in Fresh Stars emergence in the semis with the best score. Mills scored a goal but had to play second fiddle to teammate Dale Buethen, who struck a hat-trick in guiding Fresh Stars to a 4-2 win over Taxi-Gang, a favoured team from the early rounds.

Original Hazard got in the semis the difficult way, relying on a 3-1 triumph on penalty kicks after battling to a 1-1 draw with Gunners.
